The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department June 22 through July 5.

Wednesday, June 22 Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 6:24 p.m. at Main and Maple streets between a 2018 Jeep Renegade, driven by Heidi Jean Perry, 57, Roberts, and a 2003 GMC Sierra, driven by Christopher James Fox, 37, Stacy, Minn. Both vehicles were turning north onto Main Street from Elm Street, with Fox in front of Perry. Fox proceeded onto Main Street with Perry right behind. Fox began brake-checking Perry; the road rage behavior continued until Main and Maple streets, where Fox stopped in the road. When Perry attempted to overtake Fox on the left, she collided with his vehicle. Both vehicles had minor damage. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries.

Friday, June 24 Police responded at 10:15 p.m. to Positive Alternatives (2860 Williams Ave.) where two juveniles were physically fighting. One juvenile struck another with a closed fist. Staff separated the two and informed St. Croix County Juvenile Intake.

Saturday, June 25 Officers were notified of a two-vehicle crash at 2:46 p.m. that had occurred at 6 a.m. in the parking lot of 215 W. Cascade Ave. between a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Samuel Scott Hopkinson, 30, River Falls, and a legally parked 2015 Mazda CX-5, owned by Timothy Eugene Gillen, Mahtomedi, Minn. Gillen called police when he came outside and noticed damage to the rear passenger side quarter panel of his vehicle, along with red plastic lying on the ground. The vehicle parked next to him, belonging to Hopkinson, had damage to the passenger side rear tail light and fender. Hopkinson, via phone call, admitted to the crash. He had been backing into the parking spot when he hit Gillen’s vehicle. He said he’d planned to call police but hadn’t done so yet. Both vehicles had minor damage. Hopkinson reported no injuries.

Police were called at 3:35 p.m. to a domestic in progress at 1450 S. Wasson Lane, #210. The suspect was not on the scene, but a woman there said he’d taken her phone and knocked over baby items. Later that evening, Christopher T. Malone, 32, River Falls, arrived at the police station saying he’d give the phone back. When police asked to interview him, he refused. They arrested him for theft – movable property and domestic disorderly conduct. He was taken to Pierce County Jail.

Sunday, June 26 Sally Jane Olin, 58, River Falls, was arrested on a warrant at 8:22 p.m. at 808 S. Main St. She paid $836.20 in bond money and was issued a new notice to appear for St. Croix County Circuit Court.

Monday, June 27 Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 9:43 a.m. in the parking lot of 818 Cemetery Road between a 2004 Volkswagen Golf, driven by Robert J. Kotz, 57, Beldenville, and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, driven by Danielle Catherine Fahey, 34, River Falls. Kotz was backing out of a parking spot when he struck Fahey, who was driving through the lot. Both vehicles had minor damage. Both drivers and two passengers in Fahey’s vehicle, ages 7 and 4, wore seat belts and reported no injuries.

Police were called at 3:38 p.m. to Family Fresh (303 S. Main St.) for two juveniles shoplifting toothpaste, tooth whitening strips and two bottles of Cucumber Tequila, totaling about $125 in merchandise. A 15-yearold Minneapolis juvenile and a 16-year-old Minneapolis juvenile were both cited $92.50 for retail theft – intentionally take. Tuesday, June 28 Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at 12:07 p.m. in the Family Fresh (303 S. Main St.) parking lot between a 2013 Nissan Altima, driven by Jared Andrew McCann, 19, Menomonie, and a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Larry Thomas Danielson, 70, River Falls. Both vehicles were traveling east through the parking lot toward Main Street. McCann was looking for the Caribou Coffee; when he realized it was in the grocery store, he put his car in reverse and backed into Danielson. Both vehicles had minor damage. Neither driver reported injuries.

Police took a dog bite report at 6:20 p.m. that had occurred at 1654 Valley Quail Drive at 4 p.m. A German Shepherd bit a woman in the back of her thigh. She sought treatment at Hudson Hospital. The dog’s owners were issued quarantine paperwork.

Wednesday, June 29 Luis Alfonso Japon, 18, River Falls, was arrested and cited $313 for violate absolute sobriety law and $124 for operate without valid license after a traffic stop at 4:24 a.m. in the 400 block of Pearl Street for running two stop signs – one at Maple and Falls streets and one at Falls and Cedar streets. Japon denied drinking alcohol and said he takes a liver medication that makes him smell like alcohol. He registered a .04 on the intoximeter test. He was cited and released.

Officers performed a welfare check on a woman at 9:45 a.m. at 925 Lucille Court. After gaining the garage code from a family member, they found a woman barely breathing and administered two doses of Narcan before an ambulance transported her to River Falls Area Hospital.

At 10:34 a.m., police responded to 629 N. Main St. for a woman found deceased in her apartment by a River Falls Housing Authority manager. The medical examiner ruled her death as due to natural causes.

Thursday, June 30 An employee reported a gas theft of $27.37 at 5:12 p.m. at BP (700 N. Main St.) The female suspect was driving a three-wheel motorcycle, had blonde hair and wore a red shirt.

Friday, July 1 Angel Ingacio Alatorre, 32, River Falls, was arrested for disorderly conduct, child abuse – intentionally cause harm, felony bail jumping, and misdemeanor bail jumping after a domestic incident reported at 2:31 p.m. The incident occurred at 1450 S. Wasson Lane where Alatorre allegedly pulled a teen by the hair and pushed the teen’s mother during an argument about a trip. The woman reported the incident on her way to the airport.

Gabriella Victoria Slaikeu, 18, River Falls, was arrested on a warrant and transported to St. Croix County Jail at 7:57 p.m. at 284 W. Johnson St.

Saturday, July 2 While patrolling a path at 8:50 p.m. near 901 W. Locust St., an officer discovered a small wooden footbridge over a small creek that appeared to be broken and weathered. The officer notified city employees about the potential hazard.

Sunday, July 3 Pablo Loja Cela, 35, Minneapolis, was cited $187 for operating while revoked (second) after a traffic stop for speeding at 6:06 a.m. at Highway 35 and Quarry Road.

At 6:41 p.m., police responded to 170 and 172 Broadway St. for a neighbor dispute. One neighbor reported the other neighbor, who was having a party, for parking a vehicle on her side of the shared driveway. She also accused the neighbors of repeated harassment, partying and profanity and demanded an emergency protection order. Police advised her of the court process and told her they would not ticket the vehicle since they moved it when she asked.

At 9:50 p.m., a caller in the 500 block of East Maple Street reported continuous harassment from a high school boyfriend that she hadn’t seen since 2017. She wanted the harassment documented.

Monday, July 4 Jared Riley Hoffard, 19, Fridley, Minn., was cited $187 for possession of THC and Ernad Muharemovic, 18, Spring Lake Park, Minn., was cited $187 for possession of THC and $124 for speeding on city highway after a traffic stop for speeding 73 mph at 3:43 a.m. on Highway 65 just north of Cascade Avenue. Both vehicle occupants admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle, as well as an open bottle of liquor with a faulty seal. They both submitted to breath tests, which registered 0s. Two baggies of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and the alcohol were confiscated.

Police responded at 7:40 a.m. to 215 W. Cedar St. for a disturbance. After interviewing both parties, Zane Nicholas Robertson, 24, River Falls, was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct (domestic abuse). Both parties’ stories differed as to what occurred, but evidence collected prompted police to arrest Robertson.

Police and the River Falls Fire Department were dispatched to a home at 528 N. Pearl Street for a garage and yard one fire, and there reportedly were fireworks in the garage. The homeowner also called and reported that there was a vehicle next to the garage. Upon arrival, the detached garage was fully engulfed in flames. Police evacuated four children from the residence. The resident of the home told police that had been lighting off sparklers and small fireworks earlier in the night. They waited until they believed they were cool and put them in a laundry basket and placed the basket in the garage. The Chevrolet Silverado next to the garage was also damaged by the fire and a boat in the garage was severely damaged.

Tuesday, July 5 Officers provided mutual aid to other law enforcement agencies at 12:40 p.m. when dispatch received a report of a man standing on the Highway 35 cliffs (south of the hospital) in his underwear. Police found the man hiding behind bushes and sneaking down the cliffs. The 31-year-old man stood up, waved at cards, yelled at officers and flipped them off. When an officer attempted to approach him, he climbed a tall wire fence and went into the woods. Police eventually found him deep in the woods, where he refused to respond to officers. He eventually asked for money and a car and said the bank stole his money. A state trooper went to the hospital to get the man dry clothes. The man continued to ask for money, a car, steroids, food and cocaine. Officers eventually got him out of the woods and into a squad car. They took him to McDonald’s for some food and contacted Northwest Connections, who said no crisis beds were open. Grace Place in New Richmond said he could come there, but on the way to New Richmond, the man tried to break the squad window and threatened to kill people at Grace Place. He was ultimately brought to Westfields Hospital for an emergency evaluation.
