Vernon Allen Farrell, age 84, of Lake Nebagamon, Wis., passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2024, at Azura Memory Care in Eau Claire, Wis.
Vernon was born on Feb. 12, 1940, to Floyd and Florence (Barringer) Farrell in Baldwin, Wis. He was married to Jacqueline Most and they had three children. He married Carol Filkins on March 12, 1977. Vernon and Carol lived in Prescott, Wis., until 1979 and then moved to Hudson, Wis., until retirement. They summered in the Lake Nebagamon area and wintered in Crystal River, Fla. Vernon enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, winters in Florida, time with family, and his dog Cocoa. He retired from a long career at 3M.
Vernon is survived by three daughters: Robin (Dennis) Peterson, Jamie (Sean) Jenkins, and Kelli (Roger) Peterson; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; six stepchildren: Sherry (Mark) Randolph, Julie (Danny) Belden, Dennis (Jill) Filkins, Roxie (Jim) Schommer, Doug Filkins and Connie (Marc) Smith;, 13 step grandchildren, 26 step great-grandchildren; sister Loretta Farrell.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Farrell, brother Frank Farrell, and his parents.
