Prescott Cardinals football team will host its second annual Randy Shaver Tackle Cancer event on Friday, Oct. 18. Festivities begin with a variety of “Tailgate for a Cause” activities from 5-7 p.m. at Laney Field.
There will be tailgate food available for a free will donation (hot dogs, brats and more). An array of pink fanfare, graciously donated by Cernohous Chevrolet, will be given out to help paint the stands pink!
Other activities include games and a chance to win a variety of prize packs that include two pink Prescott football jerseys that can be signed by the team, “Breakfast with the Team,” a Raising Cane's cooler pack and much more. Pink Cheer packs will be for sale to show support for the team.
The Tackle Cancer event takes on special meaning this year as one of Prescott's beloved elementary teachers and Cross County/Track Coach, Emily Calabrese, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. There will be a dedication board to send Mrs. Calabrese an encouraging message, and one for all of those who are battling or have survived cancer.
Funds from area Tackle Cancer events benefit the organization that has raised over $3.5 million since its inception in 2012. Monies are used to fund:
If you are unable to attend the fundraiser on the 18th and would like to donate to this great cause, contact PCR Director, Angela Magee: pcrdirector@prescott.k12.wi.us.
