Welcome to October, the month of change. The weather changes to cool crisp days, leaves change colors, coffee changes to pumpkin spice, and River Falls Senior Center changes nutrition manager.

Tim Kaine is the new nutrition manager. Tim is married to his wife Rita and has two adult daughters. They love animals and spending time outdoors. He is excited to meet everyone, so stop in, say hello, and have lunch.

All events are at Wellhaven (119 Union St., River Falls) unless otherwise listed.

• Senior Center Board Meeting: 9 a.m. Oct. 2
• Memory Café: 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 3
• Foot care: Oct. 5, 16 and 30. Call 715-425-9932 to make an appointment. Cost is $25.
• 17 – Senior Center will be closed. No meals will be served.
• Free blood pressure clinic: 10:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 19, followed by a wine and cheese social at 2 p.m.
• Morning Coffee Break Education: 10-10:45 a.m. Oct. 27. We will learn about Happy Feet.
• Monster Mash Bash: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 27 at Roberts Community Center
• Senior Center General Meeting: 1 p.m. Oct. 31, with Bingo afterwards

Every Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m., we offer free 55-plus fitness classes.

Bingo at 1:30 p.m. every Monday.

Cards at 1 p.m. every Wednesday (euchre)

500 and Bridge at 1 p.m. every Friday

9:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday join us for coffee hour.

A new bus trip is planned to Savannah, Jekyll Island and Beaufort! This is filling up fast, only 18 seats left. Join us on a nine-day tour Saturday March 2 – Sunday March 10, 2024! The Senior Center is open at Wellhaven for in-person dining. We offer delicious meals Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  Cost is $6. You are served an entrée with all the trimmings, fruit, dessert and a beverage. Be sure to check out our menu. We also have grab-n-go for pickup at 11 a.m. Please call 24 hours in advance to reserve your meal.
