A Minnesota man wanted for over a decade in a town of River Falls stalking/domestic abuse case was arrested by Pierce Couty Sheriff’s Office Aug. 16.

Shane Eugene Wisniewski, 49, Ortonville, Minn., was ordered to pay $2,000 cash bond in Pierce County Circuit Court Aug. 19 on felony stalking, criminal damage to property (two counts), disorderly conduct (two counts), criminal trespass to dwelling, and battery charges. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 3.5 years in prison and/or fines up to $10,000.

He also waived extradition Aug. 19 to Bay County, Fla., where is charged with contractor without cert or reg, grand theft over $20,000 and uttering a forgery related to a 2022 case. According to Florida court documents, Wisniewski was placed on probation Aug. 16, 2021 for battery in Bay County. He failed to complete probation, anger management, a psychological evaluation or pay his fines.

According to the Wisconsin complaints:

At 12:09 p.m. Dec. 31, 2012, police were called to a residence on 840th Avenue in the town of River Falls for a property damage complaint. The woman living there said she had kicked her ex-boyfriend, Wisniewski, out and he had gone ballistic, smashing a TV, refrigerator and pictures in a garage “man cave.” The woman at the time didn’t want to press charge but wanted the incident documented.

At 1:11 a.m. Jan. 8, 2013, the woman called police again after fleeing her home with her two small children to a gas station in River Falls. She told police Wisniewski had been pressuring her to get back together. She wrote him an email Jan. 7 stating that it was not going to work and she did not want to get back together. She went to sleep and when she awoke, she realized she had missed 56 calls from Wisniewski. She was lying in bed when she heard a noise downstairs in her home.

She shut off her bedroom lights and rose with her phone in her hand, with 911 pre-dialed in case. When she opened her bedroom door, Wisniewski was right outside it. He had broken a window in the basement with a pry bar and gotten into the house. Police later found a small stepladder beneath the window. He pushed her up against the wall and they began to fight over the phone. She began screaming, hoping a distant neighbor would hear her. She said she felt like she was going to die. While they were fighting over the phone, it cracked and became inoperable. During the fight, she was bruised and received scratches and cut lip. He then fled downstairs and held a knife to his bare chest, threatening to kill himself because she “ruined his life.”

He then left the residence and she gathered her two kids and fled to River Falls. She told police he might have gone back to his sister’s home in Minnesota, but he was not located there or at his job at the time. She was granted a restraining order against him in Pierce County Circuit Court.

In March 2013, the woman made multiple complaints to police of Wisniewski’s constant email and text message harassment. He also sent emails trying to destroy her credibility to work colleagues and contacts in her consulting business, her family and friends. Some of his emails were threatening in nature, causing her to fear for her safety. Police never located him, until Aug. 16, 2024.

He is scheduled to appear in Pierce County Circuit Court at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 28 for a status conference. He remains in Pierce County Jail.
