To the editor,
I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Shannon Zimmerman as our representative. Shannon embodies the American dream. Have you ever heard his story?
Raised in rural Wisconsin by his single mother alongside two younger sisters, Shannon learned the value of hard work through jobs like delivering newspapers, working on farms, and in the restaurant industry. His story reflects the journey of someone who understands the challenges and aspirations of every individual striving for economic stability.
Shannon and his wife started their business in their living room in River Falls, growing it into a global success. That achievement has allowed him to give back generously to the St. Croix Valley, making significant contributions that have positively impacted countless lives. His success story isn’t just about personal gain—it’s about lifting up the community around him.
Yet, unbelievably, his opponent tries to paint Shannon’s success as something negative. This line of attack is absurd. Are we telling our children that striving for success is admirable—but being too successful is somehow wrong? Shannon is one of the most grounded, down-to-earth individuals in our region. His story should be celebrated, not twisted into something harmful.
The truth is, these attacks reveal more about his opponent’s lack of substantial arguments than anything about Shannon. In contrast, Shannon’s proven leadership, community involvement, and understanding of real-world challenges make him the perfect candidate for the job.
Let’s support a leader who gets things done for all of us. Shannon Zimmerman is that leader.
