Prescott’s absolute dominance continued Friday, picking up a 49-0 win over Osceola. Now sitting at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play, the squad has allowed just 30 points on the season.

Ellsworth improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with a 35-16 win over Amery. Ellsworth, Prescott and Baldwin-Woodville are the three Middle Border Conference teams sitting at 2-0. If Ellsworth and Prescott remain at the top, they will face off in the final regular season game on Oct. 18 to see who will bring home the conference title.

Spring Valley is also off to a perfect start to the season at 4-0. Clear Lake came to town and left empty handed after a 33-0 game. Spring Valley and Boyceville are the lone two Dunn-St. Croix squads at 2-0 in conference play.

River Falls fell to 2-2 after a 35-21 loss to Chippewa Falls at home. The schedule does not lighten up for the Wildcats, as they take on a New Richmond squad that is 4-0 including a 32-7 win over the Chippewa Falls squad.

Elmwood/Plum City is looking to get into the win column after an 0-4 start. The Wolves lost 44-14 to Boyceville and will host 0-4 Colfax this week.

Girls Golf

Prescott remained perfect in Middle Border Conference competition after winning each of the first four events. On Sept. 9, Gabbi Matzek finished as the top individual and Prescott had four of the top five finishers. The team won by 17 strokes at the Pheasant Hills Golf Club in Hammond.

Ellsworth landed in third of eight at the event, finding themselves tied for third in the conference standings with St. Croix Central through four events.

River Falls competed in a pair of Big Rivers Conference meets, landing in fifth and fourth out of eight teams. The team also finished sixth of 23 teams at an invitational in Colfax.

Volleyball

At 13-3, River Falls is moving through its schedule with ease. They beat Chippewa Falls 3-1 Thursday and now eye the heart of conference play. Their biggest obstacle will be 19-0 Hudson who they lost 2-0 to in a non-conference matchup at the Menomonie Sprawl.

Spring Valley boasts a 9-2 record on the season. Most recently, the Cardinals went to the Baldwin-Woodville Quad and came away with a 2-1 record.

EPC sits at 7-2, taking down Osseo-Fairchild 3-0 Sept. 10 to open conference play.

Ellsworth got a 3-1 win over Durand-Arkansaw on Sept. 10, while Prescott lost 3-1 to Bloomer. The two teams have yet to enter conference play.

Boys Soccer

River Falls sits at 4-2-1 on the season with a 1-1-0 record in conference play. The Wildcats dropped a conference matchup against Eau Claire Memorial 4-0 Sept. 9 before taking down Superior 2-1 Sept. 10.

Tennis

River Falls fell to Hudson 7-0 Sept. 10. The squad gets back into action Thursday to take on Eau Claire North on the road.

Ellsworth hosts Baldwin-Woodville on Thursday and heads to Baldwin for a quad Saturday.

Swim & Dive

River Falls matches up with Hudson on the road Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Hudson Middle School.

Cross Country

Prescott, Ellsworth and Spring Valley traveled to Somerset on Thursday. Prescott finished third of eight teams in the boys’ race, with Ellsworth right behind in fourth and Spring Valley in eighth. Prescott finished fourth of six teams in the girls’ race while Ellsworth and Spring Valley did not have enough runners to place.

River Falls heads to the University of Minnesota on Friday for the Roy Griak Invitational, one of the largest events of the year.
