Cadence Lee Allen, age 17, a junior at Prescott High School, died as a result of an auto accident Friday Feb. 10, 2023 in St. Paul. Cadence was born on Sept. 11, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul, the son of Joseph Lee Allen and Melissa Farrow. Being raised in Prescott, he attended Malone Elementary School prior to the Prescott High School. Cadence worked as a cook at the Mc-Donald’s in Hastings. He was excited as he was saving up for a Honda Accord that he had his eyes set on.

If one word summed up Cadence, it would be family. He so enjoyed the laughter and memories when the family was together. One of his favorites was the Marengo Cabin. Crawfish hunting with cousins, bon fires and stories, and of course lighting the sky up with fireworks always brought the biggest smile to his face. Most recently, the entire family stayed at a cabin near the Dells. This weekend also included a trip to the Wilderness Water Park as he and his cousins did not want to leave and kept on going on all the water rides. Little did they know just how special this weekend would become.

Growing up, Cadence loved playing basketball and made lifetime friends from the team. He enjoyed time spent playing Pokémon, Minecraft video game, and listening to music. He loved the Deftones and RKS, but also really enjoyed the Beatles! He also looked forward to shopping; especially when it was for shoes as well as skateboarding.

Cadence made an impact on those around him. He held genuine concern for others and could be known to have a little fun at their expense. His big heart and special smile will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

Cadence will never leave the hearts of his father Joey (Veronica Cudo) Allen; mother Melissa Farrow; brother Carter Lee Allen; grandparents Richard Lee and Valla (Kofstad) Allen, Yvette (Michael) Bongiovanni; step sisters Ashlyn and Ainsley; aunts and uncles Matt Allen, Teresa Kusske, Michael (Monica) Allen, Brian (Maria) Allen, Benjamin (Jennifer) Allen; cousins Madison (Riley) and their children Natalie and Logan; Austin, Sammie, Vincent, August, Theodore, Lillian; as well as his beloved cats Jack and Carl.

A Celebration of Life for Cadence Allen will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Ptacek’s Old Event Center (1449 Orrin Road in Prescott). A visitation will follow from 4-7pm at Ptaceks. Burial will be in the Pine Glen Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Prescott.
