Marlene Clara Salemie, 88 of North Branch, Minn., peacefully passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024 at United Hospital in St. Paul with her children by her side. A private family service has been planned for a later date.
Marlene was born in Chicago, Ill. on March 5, 1936. She then resided in California where she married Robert Elich and raised five children. Marlene then moved to Missouri for 25+ years before relocating to North Branch where she has resided since 2013. Among many of Marlene’s talents, and there were many, was everything from waterskiing, yes waterskiing, painting, raising five extraordinary kids, sewing skills second to none, and a heart-warming laugh loved by all. Mom’s laugh was simply the best.
Marlene is survived by her children, Michael (Robin Nordli) Elich of Ashland, Ore., Linda (Dennis) Patrick of North Branch, Minn., Carol (Matt) Ballantine of East Bethel, Minn., Gina (Tom) Maier of River Falls, Wis., and Joesph (Molly) Elich of Hollister, Calif. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
