Football

Spring Valley moved to 8-0 after beating undefeated Boyceville on the road 19-18. Boyceville was ranked fourth in Division 7 on the Wisconsin Sports Network rankings and Spring Valley was ranked sixth. The win secured at least a share of the conference title for the Cardinals.

Prescott took its first loss of the season, falling 41-30 against Baldwin-Woodville. BW stands undefeated in conference and, barring a loss in the final game, will be the outright Middle Border champions.
Ellsworth took down Osceola 48-7 and are now 6-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The final regular season game will be Prescott hosting Ellsworth with conference positioning on the line.

River Falls improved to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the Big Rivers Conference after taking down 5-3 Menomonie 29-19. The Wildcats head to Wausau West for the final regular season game.

Elmwood/Plum City fell to 1-7 after losing 31-6 to Glenwood City. The Wolves host Clear Lake in Elmwood to conclude the regular season.

Volleyball

With the volleyball regular season entering its final week, teams are looking to build momentum for the playoffs. River Falls took down Rice Lake 3-0 Oct. 10.

EPC took home a rivalry win against Spring Valley 3-1, and EPC is holding onto the second spot in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference with Spring Valley in third.

Prescott and Ellsworth were active over the week, with Prescott taking down Ellsworth, Somerset and Cochrane-Fountain City. The Cardinals started the year slowly, but everything is coming together at the right time.

Ellsworth rebounded from the 3-1 loss against Prescott with a 3-0 win against Amery. Prescott is third in the Middle Border Conference at 4-2 and Ellsworth is sixth at 2-4.

Girls Golf

The State Girls Golf Tournament runs from Oct. 14-15, with Prescott competing as a team in Division 1 and Lexi Marks competing individually in Division 2. The event is at University Ridge in Madison.

Cross Country

Prescott and Spring Valley headed to Amery Oct. 8, where Prescott placed third of 14 teams in the girls race and third of 13 teams. Spring Valley placed 14th in the girls race and did not qualify in the boys race. Kyra Dix continues to show out for Prescott, taking second in the girls race.

Spring Valley also placed seventh of seven at the Boyceville Invite on Saturday and fifth of five in the girls race.

River Falls competed at the Old Abe Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth of 18 teams in the boys race and seventh of 15 in the girls race. Quin Andrews and Jonah Majerus placed seventh and eighth in the boys race.

Girls Tennis

The tennis postseason came and went as Ellsworth and River Falls were eliminated in Sectionals. Ellsworth scored 10 team points to place sixth of 16 teams at the Lakeland Sectional, while River Falls did not score as a team.

Girls Swimming and Diving

River Falls beat Menomonie Oct. 8 89-70, and have two more meets before the conference event that spans Nov. 1-2.

Boys Soccer

River Falls fell to 4-4 in conference after dropping a second matchup to New Richmond 2-0 Oct. 8. The Wildcats got a top half of the conference placement after one round of competition, meaning they will play second matchups against the top half to close the season.
